It's been a hot, humid stretch and every morning the plants are glistening with dew, which look like the tiniest of diamonds. It's about the only water they get right now, as our well has become dangerously low.

I love the way light filters through the papery petals of daffodils.

oops, I did it again

If I can't have spring in my gardens, I'm going to have it in my house. I've been picking up spring plants here and there to add to my garden once winter decides to leave - hyacinth, tulip, gerber daisies, and this fine hellebore. Not sure if this tag is a warning or the actual plant name... ;-)

vitamin p (plant shopping)

After a while, the bleak winter coupled with the pandemic begins to wear on you. At the height of the last storm I suddenly had a desperate yearning to enter a greenhouse and inhale the wonderful scents that live there. Mom and I took a trip to our favorite nursery and I came home with a little bit of cheer in a pot.

Never have I ever...

I've had scores of pink bleeding hearts, and I once had an entire garden of nothing but white bleeding hearts, but never have I ever owned a red bleeding heart. This one has made it's way into my perennial collection as a gift from my mother.

here we are again

I can't believe it's been nearly a year since my last upload. It's been quite a year - a pandemic, navigating the whole work-from-home thing, and building a house. I should be able to move in to my new nest soon, and I'm beyond excited. I'm hoping to haul out the camera a little more once I'm settled in.
