Heidiho club has replied to Mario Vargas clubZu Deiner Frage: das Dorf Balestrand hatte sich Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts zu einer "Künstlersiedlung" entwickelt. Die Idee war, diesen Ort in einem typisch norwegischen Baustil umzugestalten: Holzhäuser, die Elemente der üblichen Stabkirchen und Bauernhäuser übernahmen, mit alten Wikinger-Ornamenten verknüpften und kreativ weiterentwickelten. Dazu gehörten traditionelle Schnitzereien und Verzierungen - wie eben diese "Drachenköpfe". Der Architekt Karl Norum aus Trondheim hat dazu extra einen Katalog mit möglichen Verzierungsmustern veröffentlicht. Jeder Bauherr konnte sich dort möglichst originelle Gestaltungselemente aussuchen. Vorgefertigt wurden sie in Trondheim. 1893 hat sich der norwegische Maler Hans Dahl so ein "Drachenhaus" bauen lassen (das im Foto abgebildete). Es entsprach vollkommen der damaligen Mode, die späterhin erstaunlicherweise auch "Schweizer Stil" genannt wurde.
