Visitors enter through a unique 1880s entrance gate featuring a distinctive four-sided roof and stone pillars that symbolize leaving behind worldly distractions. Passing through this historic gateway reveals the temple's dramatic physical setting: a 1,200-year-old sanctuary situated directly across from Gangnam's futuristic skyscrapers, offering a stunning architectural contrast where ancient wooden shrines meet a hyper-modern cityscape.
