Swachh Bharat!

The Swachh Bharat logo features Mahatma Gandhi’s glasses, symbolising his vision of a clean India. The tricolour bridge in the glasses represents national unity. “Swachh Bharat” appears in English and Hindi below, while green colour hints at cleanliness and environmental care. It’s a call for united action

The Clean India Mission has swept India into an era of clean streets, public pride, and healthier lives. Since 2014, more than 120 million toilets have been built and thousands of neglected dump sites transformed into parks and playgrounds. Citizen volunteers, schoolchildren, and government staff work side by side, showing that sweeping change is possible when a nation acts together. Open defecation has plummeted, hygiene awareness is on the rise, and diseases like cholera and diarrhoea have dropped.
