I Me Mine
Pictures of me so people can see what I look like.
Beach Bum
| |
|
This was a picture of me when I lived in Florida. I had my camera on a tripod and took it near Jacksonville Beach. It's an extreme crop of a picture that originally included two of my buddies standing next to me. I was looking in their direction.
Beulah Kershaw and Me
| |
|
|
|
Here's a shot from a few years back I took of me standing next to local celebrity, Beulah Kershaw. This was at her place between Crossville and Carmi. She ended up recording a song I wrote. Taken with my Minolta XD11 and Kodak Gold 100 film.
Jamming In 1985
| |
|
Here's an old Army buddy and me jamming on our new Takamine acoustic guitars we got while we were in the service. I ended up trading mine away for an electric guitar.
3 Amigos
| |
|
|
|
This is me and a couple musician friends of mine goofing off for the camera. I'm on the far left holding the dark acoustic guitar I got from my brother. I added an old electric guitar pickup to it and a jack and it sounded pretty interesting.
I took this shot with my Minolta XD11 on May 20th, 1989.
Posers

|
|
I posted another shot from this sequence last week, but here's a closeup of me and two friends just goofing off with guitars for the camera. I took this shot with my Minolta XD11 on May 20th, 1989.
Modified Acousic Guitar
| |
|
|
This was an inexpensive acoustic guitar my little brother got for Christmas in 1984 or so and he didn't really want it any more. So, I ended up with it and did some modifications to it. I added an old electric guitar pickup from a Harmony Rebel electric guitar and a jack so it could be plugged into an amplifier. I kept it simple and didn't even add a volume knob. Here I am on December 25th, 1989 recording with it. Taken with my Minolta XD11.
Foreplay
| |
|
This was a band I was in called "Foreplay." Photographed by me using my Minolta XD11 on November 29th, 1989. I'm holding my Dad's old Western Auto Truetone hollow-body electric guitar.
And, no.... we're not posing at a Radar Base. The huge satellite dish behind us is the size they used to be back then!
Fender Telecaster
| |
|
Me playing my Fender Telecaster Deluxe at a live gig in 1987. Taken by my friend, Bob, using my Minolta XD11.
This is one camera and guitar that I still have.
Laying Down A Guitar Part
| |
|
Another self-portrait of me playing one of my guitars. I was recording a guitar part for this one.
Cort Les Paul
| |
|
Here's a shot taken by my friend Bob, of me playing my Cort Les Paul guitar. We were playing at the Fairfield Eagles club on January 20th, 1990 and he used my Minolta XD11.
I eventually replaced one of the pickups with a real Gibson Les Paul pickup.

This shot was taken in 2000 and was a band I used to be in. I'm playing a Gibson Les Paul guitar in this one.
Rockin' Into The Night
| |
|
|
This was me playing lead guitar at a gig back in 2000. We called it our "New Year's Eve Eve" show because it was the night before New Year's Eve. Pretty catchy, eh? It was taken with my camera by the other guitarist's girlfriend.
Camera: Polaroid 200 Bf
Film: Kodak Gold 100 ASA 35mm color film
Date: December 30th, 2000
Location: Sims, Illinois, U.S.A.

Me As Moses
| |
|
One year, 1983, I dressed as Moses for Hallowe'en and I took this self-portrait. I edited the part of the original picture of me into a desert scene.
Foreplay
| |
|
An old band I used to be in called "Foreplay." I took this shot with my Minolta XD11, on March 24th, 1991. I'm holding my Fender Telecaster Deluxe, a rare model they only originally made for one year back in the early 1970's. I picked it up used in 1983 real cheap because it's big and heavy, unlike a regular Telecaster, and it just wasn't popular at the time.
More than 30 years later, I still have that guitar.
Univox 12-String Electric Guitar
| |
|
|
Here's me posing with a friend's Univox electric guitar for a promo picture I shot of a band I was in at the time. Taken in the mid-1990's using my Minolta XD11 and Kodak Gold 100 film. This is an extreme crop of the original negative and you can see parts of a couple of the other members of the band.
Group Shot
| |
|
This was my band Deadline, playing at the Grayville, Illinois American Legion on December 30th, 2000. Taken by the wife of the other guitar player in the band, Joe, standing next to me. She used my camera.
New Year's Eve 2000
| |
|
|
This is me playing my Electra Les Paul live on New Year's Eve of 2000. Taken by the rhythm guitarist's wife.
Live At Michael O'Brian's

|
Playing my Electra Les Paul at a live gig. Location is Michael O'Brian's. Taken around 2002 by my friend, Doug.
