When I Was 17

Kodak Kodacolor

This is an album of pictures taken using Kodak Kodacolor and Kodacolor II film. I used a lot of it back in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Traffic At Night

02 Mar 2014 1 467
This is a shot of the traffic passing by my bedroom window on the highway in front of our house. I remember resting the camera solidly on the window sill and taking a long, timed exposure. This resulted in the streaks of light. Even on this first roll of film I ever shot, I was pushing my equipment to see what the limit was. Camera: Kodak 35 RF rangefinder (made in 1948) Lens: Kodak Anastar 50mm, f/3.5 Film: Kodak Kodacolor, 100 ASA 35mm Aperture: ? Shutter speed: Bulb Exposure mode: Manual (of course!) The $64,000 Question

02 Mar 2014 460
"What is it?" As soon as I can find my notes for this roll, I'll let you know. Until then, I haven't the foggiest notion of what it was, other than that it was photographed close up and out of focus like this intentionally. I left part of the film edge in the photo because I thought the grooves at the top left of the frame looked interesting. Camera: Kodak 35 RF rangefinder (made in 1948) Lens: Kodak Anastar 50mm, f/3.5 Film: Kodak Kodacolor, 100 ASA 35mm Aperture: ? (I haven't found my notes for this roll, yet. Shutter speed: ? Exposure mode: Manual (of course!) Date: 1976 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Age of photographer: 15 First Roll 12if

Fresh As A Daisy

07 Apr 2014 1 4 477
Some of the wildflowers that grow in Southern Illinois. These daisies were growing just outside my hometown. To light this shot, the sun peeked through a tiny area at the top of a tree across the lane from these flowers and mainly shined on the flowers themselves, while leaving the background in shadow. Camera: Minolta XD11 Lens: Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm, f/1.7 Filter: Hoya HMC 55mm Skylight (1B) Film: Kodak Gold 100 ISO color 35mm film Shooting program: Aperture priority Aperture: F/3.3 Shutter speed: 1/250 sec. Chopped

30 Apr 2014 1 1 618
A Ford Model A 1/24th scale model kit I customized by chopping the top and adding a huge engine with a blower and 3 dual Stromberg carburetors. Okay, so maybe the blower and manifold/carburetor setup doesn't really work, but hey, I was a young kid at the time! What's Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made a Loser Out…

01 May 2014 1 3 519
In early 1978, there was an accident quite near my house. It was some friends of mine who had been out cruising and slid off the road due to snowy conditions and into the ditch that ran along Division Street. Nobody was hurt, but I've always had my suspicions that it was more than snow involved. This picture seemingly paints a different story. Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Kodacolor 100 Date: 1978 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica TC Littlefield 01ff

Barbara

Camera: Konica Autoreflex TC Lens: Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 Film: Kodak Kodacolor II 100 Date: 1977/1978 Location: Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A. Konica TC Barbara 12-3ef

On the right, is the second guitar amplifier I ever owned. A friend of mine, who recovered it in the fake leather you see here, sold it to me when he got another, better bass amplifier. It is a Fury amplifier, looks like. That's my old Zenith console television, which I customized. Taken with my Minolta XD11 and Kodak Kodacolor VR 100 Gen 1 film in 1982.

Canadian Vacation
