Argus Autronic 35 Lens Test

14 Nov 2024 1 121
Back in the 1970s, I bought an old Argus Autronic 35 camera at a yard sale. It was broken and I tried to fix it, but failed. So, I never got to use it. Now, all I have left of it is it's leather case and front lens element. I took a picture through the front lens element with my digital camera, so this is probably the closest I'll ever come to using this camera.

Found Film Salutatorian

14 Nov 2024 1 1 413
This picture is from a roll of old film that was left unfinished in an old Kodak Instamatic 104 camera. I developed it a couple days ago. It was in an old 126 film cartridge and was Kmart brand Focal color print film. The speed of the film, 80 ASA, dates it to no later than the mid-1970s, so these pictures were probably taken in the late-1960s or early-1970s. The images were all seriously degraded in this manner, but I could see enough to tell the styles were from that period as well. Found film that is this old very rarely turns out with good, clear results. But, it is interesting to see pictures that people took but never finished shooting the roll to find out how they turned out. It looks like this girl was graduating from high school and was the class Salutatorian, according to the sash around her neck.

Bigfoot

14 Nov 2024 444
Images and legends of Bigfoot are all over my area. Here is an outline of him on the front of this semi truck. The camera had stopped working, but I put some new batteries in it and it started working again. And then the winding lever jammed up. I rapped it on the counter a few light blows and that freed it up. The Old Glove Factory

14 Nov 2024 191
This building used to house the glove factory that used to be here in town. For about a month, when my family moved to Norris City back in 1974, my Mom worked at the glove factory. She did this to help bring in an income until Dad’s electric motor repair shop could get established. I don’t think the glove factory lasted past the 1970s. This disposable camera was one I bought back in 2013 and I’m finally getting around to using it. You can’t use a camera you got at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, in Springfield, Illinois, just anywhere! Tomato Plants

13 Nov 2024 159
These are a couple tomato plants I’ve been growing in my library since last July 2022. They're starting to have a few tomatoes ripen and in fact, I picked the first three just last week. It’s been a fun experiment and now there are dozens of blooms and at least a dozen or so tomatoes getting bigger and bigger and ready to ripen. An experiment I can really sink my teeth in! The Balcony

13 Nov 2024 363
The biggest house in my little town. Nobody has lived in it for forty years or so. This camera came as a freebie that was thrown in with a lens I purchased. It didn’t have the battery door anymore, so I substituted one from a Pentax K1000 and it seemed to work. Taken with my forty-sixth camera. These Mercedes-Benz vehicles all seem to be the same year. The one in the back is even a station wagon! I’ve had this camera around 40 years, but this is the very first time I’ve gotten to use it. I used 35mm film in an old 126 cartridge.
