Sunset At Garden Of The Gods

Sunset At Garden Of The Gods
Taken yesterday, October 31st, 2016, at the Garden of the Gods park in the Shawnee National Forest. I used my Sony SLT-a77v DSLR with a Minolta 2X M-A Converter-S which allowed an old Minolta MD-mount manual focus Super Paragon PMC II Auto Tele Zoom 80-200mm lens to fit on the digital body. The equivalent focal length would have been around 1200mm and it was hand-held! Of course, the shutter speed was 1/4000 of a second, so that helped a lot!

Thanks, Karen! I had to leave while it was uploading, so when I just got back, I added a description that includes all the pertinent information.

1200mm? Wow. Was it heavy? I have a Minolta 70-210 lens and it is very heavy.

You sure get creative. I really like the dreamy quality this has.

Image the weight of your Minolta lens, plus a heavy metal adapter. Because I have one of those Minolta 70-210mm lenses and the one I used was even heavier than that. I used a tree to help prop it up and hold it steady.
