The Handle, By Kodak

The Handle, By Kodak
I bought one of these brand new back in 1977, but have long since lost it to time. I found this one at a resale shop and picked it up for sentimental reasons.

I think I sent mine back as a part of the lawsuit settlement. Polaroid filed suit against Kodak in 1976 for patent infringement. The case dragged on for years. Kodak lost the dispute, after the ruling in 1985, Kodak announced the discontinuation of their instant photo products.

You only had to send in the plastic title piece from the top of the camera - the one above is missing it, so somebody must have sent it back in for a refund. I'm thinking the crank handle broke off my original one and from there I don't have much more recollections of it.

If I did that ... I don't remember. I do remember selling my first Polaroid at a garage sale, but I have no memory of the Kodak after getting notice of the recall.
