The Royal Mail has seen all the changes, having been first built in 1882, then rebuilt in 1942 after fire destroyed the original building. Tewantin is the living history of Noosa, the original logging, fishing and tourist town. The Kabi Kabis' (local aboriginal tribe) name for Tewantin was Woolumba, meaning place of big water

On board "Miss Tewantin" for our traditional New Year's Day trip from Tewantin to Noosa Heads. The best ferry ride of the year. 9.15am, just us and another couple. A family of four joined us later on and a young girl Rose was invited to toot the horn. Main Beach was really busy and all the cafes had queues. We had morning coffee at the Sheraton. On the return trip there were only six of us on board, Ian and I and a family of four. Composite image of some of the photos I took. TSC pick your favourite challenge and re-visit!

Sunday challenge 39 - Open door. This is an archive shot, but I just love this over size door on Hastings Street in Noosa, Queensland. Cropped and framed. I took this photo last year when visiting family and friends in Queensland. We lived in the Noosa area for 18 years.
