139/365 2025 Rain

139/365 2025 Rain
Massive rainfall, and East coast low, causing widespread flooding in our area,
many evacuations, closed roads, and fallen trees.

In our immediate area, we live high and usually dry, currently high and wet...

The rain is set to continue.

Hopefully, the flooding won't be too bad. Also, I strongly agree with Esther above.

Ich drücke euch die Daumen, dass es nicht so schlimm wird. Wir haben es hier für die Jahreszeit gerade viel zu trocken

We were at Scotts Head a week or more ago and it was wet enough there then. From your photos you appear to live in a hilly area so your not going to have rivers rising into your property.

Yes, we are high up on a hill, with very good drainage. Amazing rainfall levels, worst on record.

Thanks all... We are usually high and dry where we live, but currently high and wet.
Our village is OK as we are not near a big river. The lagoon, often creek, near the beach, is now a small river flowing into the sea.

We can still get into the local town Forster/Tuncurry, but we haven't attempted to..

However, the highway is closed around Taree, and that is where the major issues are, widespread flooding, evacuations, trees down, livestock lost, all around the Manning River, which has burst its banks.
Still raining heavily, so thinking of the folks in the Taree area.

Das sieht nicht schön aus. Vor allem für direkt betroffene Menschen höchst dramatisch.

A massive rainfall event indeed, Gillian. You captured this the day I headed off for my trip away - unfortunately unable to cancel at that stage.
