Maybe because they're striped like a tiger, that makes them seem more threatening to us humans. At least to me!

True, but I have heard that several people have them in their own gardens and they are harmless, they flee when they do not feel safe. Of course if they are threatened and feel endangered they react too. Thank you very much and best regards.
