Taboo bananas

Taboo bananas
Like many other Canadians, I'm boycotting Dole, but I think posting a photo of some of their bananas is acceptable. This photo was taken 7 years before the boycott started.

James, Rrrolf, Buelipix, Andrew Trundlewagon and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

I doubt that the bananas in the containers that fell off their ship, in a storm, near the Isle of Wight - probably en route for Portsmouth or Southampton, were Dole. If they were it could be revenge for the Boston Tea Party. The containers broke open and beaches between here and Selsey have had various cargoes distributed on the shores, including two feet deep piles of chips (fries to the USA readers), near Beachy Head. Volunteers have been salvaging the plastic bags to stop them harming wildlife. The chips have been left to bio-degrade. I bet the seagulls aren't interested in them raw.

There's a good chance the chips/fries were a gift from Canada, Phil. McCain's, a Nova Scotia company, produces 25% of the world's supply of the frozen variety. Canadian seagulls seem to like everything, but raw chips do seem like a challenge.

If you have nothing better to do, there's an "interesting" article here:

Hi John, I am glad you are side-stepping American products. I can't believe what happened a couple of days ago with Trump flaunting his " let's play make-believe" map of the North American continent with Canada and Greenland painted over with the US flag. For what little it is worth DT is an anagram for "old damp runt". (Sorry for the rant).

Thanks, Andrew. It hasn't been all that hard, either. I don't know what the point of his map was, and I suspect he may not know, either. I love anagrams, so thanks for that one. I'll see if I can come up with anything.
