As I mentioned to Denis, Gudrun, this could be a mafioso house.

Oops, so he's being spared! Our house decided not to remove the graffiti and tags because it only gives the sprayers a new canvas to start again...

I'm not actually sure where this was taken, Gudrun. It could be a backyard. Businesses in Toronto have to remove graffiti quickly, I'm not too sure about houses.

This would make a suitable record album cover for a Glass or early Reich composition. Title in a relatively small, austere type, and all other information on the back.

Thanks, Bob. I have a great respect for album covers of all types.

In Toronto the city makes you remove graffiti quickly. Unfortunately, that means murals sometimes get painted over because it would be too expensive to repair them.

Surprising gap between the lower bricks and the ground! Cockroaches' shelter?

This reminds me of something from a very long time ago and relevant to absolutely no one except me. In high school the art teacher set us to paint what we could see from the window. All I could see was a brick wall (a very attractive red brick wall) and some sky. So, I painted it as per instructions. This was not well received, and, not long after, it was suggested rather forcefully that I should forgo art and focus on woodwork instead.

I was hopeless at painting so I would do things like paint an abstract and claim I was trying to express the spirit of whatever I was supposed to be painting. That worked, but I was hopeless at woodwork, too, and it's not as easy to get away with expressing the spirit of the piece in that specialty.
