Happy Curnoe Friday!

Happy Curnoe Friday!
I think I have discovered another influence -- Greg Curnoe, a painter from London, Ontario whose paintings were frequently displayed in London during my youth there/here.

Here's a page about him:

kiiti, Gabi Lombardo, appo-fam, Annemarie and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

Cheers John, I hadn't come across him...like the popular culture references and collage bits, great stuff!

I especially like the Wishing Well display, Denis, which I hadn't seen before. Those drinks, which were only sold around London, came in extraordinarily bright colours, too. Full bottles glowed in the dark.

Greg must use Rockst*ar energy drink to make that kind of alphabetic artwork.

It could be useful for a quick view exam for myopic people !

Until last month Léo. I wouldn't have been able to see it, either. But then I had a lens replaced and can now actually read signs without my glasses.

Great link, must explore more of this. Already a fan of the Nihilist Spasm Band.

I may still have my copy of the NSB's first album. Steve. Some of the best liner notes ever written.
