We're having a long weekend, and it's corn season, so yesterday everyone was out buying corn. Well, not everyone -- someone seems to be taking their boat to either Lake Erie or Lake Huron (this was taken in Komoka, Ontario, which is a short drive from both).

I recommend the large view (type Z).

Fred Fouarge, kiiti, Ulrich John and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Beautyful greens as well - aside the orange.
I don't know why, but in a certain way it looks rather sad/depressing here ... but well taken.

Thanks, Leon. I was thinking of mundane but that's often synonymous with sad/depessing.

Hmmm...those omnipresent cones...fair enough, but I'm very intrigued by why everyone is buying corn???? I like it, but a couple of tins of it and I'm done!

Folk tradition, Denis. A long weekend in corn season means a barbecue with fresh corn. I'd rather have fish and chips but it's hard to fight tradition.

Wow! I'm not sure ours is ready yet! (Sweet corn, that is - I'm sure the boats are out.)

That's interesting, Bob, since your climate is much like ours. No doubt Q will be publishing something about this anomaly.

Corn plus traffic cones evokes for me the so called "candy corn" which is fed here to innocent children at Halloween time even though its clearly just sugar-coated wax.

That reminded me of this pink-tinged popcorn we used to get back when I was a kid. Great stuff, in part because, as I recall, sugar seemed to have been involved in its preparation. Always important to get the kids off on the right foot.

There are almost as many traffic cones as people...............does that tell us anything...........probably not, but this is an intriguing shot John.

Thanks, Keith. The cones are just protecting the grass, I think.

Yes, it is nice we have so many lakes in Canada, and lots of open land.
