Eglinton Boogie-Woogie

Somehow it doesn't convey updated Mondrian to me. More the Attack of the Industrial Crane? It IS a bit unsettling - perhaps the slight tilt of the buildings, as if shying away, while the gawky lamppost in the back looks on....

It's not colourful enough for Mondrian, and the wrong colour palette, too. Attack of the Industrial Crane is closer, I think, Bob. The story of Toronto the last 10 years has been the story of The Attack of the Construction Equipment. It's eaten up much of the old concrete city and built a new one of glass. The glass building ib back replaced a concrete square, for instance.

Hmm. They could have marketed that idea, George -- had a bonfire at this intersection, and so on. Halloween could do with some promoting in Toronto, too. There's only a token observation of it.

My favourite bit of this shot is that skeletal reflection on the glass just above the row of heads.

There's a lot of interesting glass at this corner, Keith. I tried some shots of the intersection from inside the building on the left that didn't work out. I may go back and try again if we ever see the sun again.
