HFF - Am Mittelpunkt der Erde (PiP)
Die Vatnshellir-Höhle in Island entstand durch einen Lavafluß, der an der Oberfläche schneller erstarrte, als im Inneren des Stroms. Die Höhle ist begehbar und führt bis zu 35 Meter unter die Erde. Dabei haben sich bizarre Tropfsteine gebildet, die hier nicht klassischerweise aus Kalk bestehen, sondern aus metallischen Erzen. Zum Schutz vor Abbrechen und Anfassen der Besucher ist dieser kleine Zaun davor installiert worden. Bekannt wurde die Höhle auch durch den Roman "Die Reise zum Mittelpunkt der Erde" von Jules Verne.
