Thank you Isabel! What is the problem there with the lensball? If it is focussing, here's how I do it:
I switch my camera to manual focus and focus on a very short distance, as close as the camera lens allows. Then I put the lensball between the camera and the subject and move the lensball so that the image in the ball is in focus. In that phase, I don't change or adjust any of the camera's settings, it's the ball that is adjusted by moving it closer or futher . When it is in focus, I just trigger ...
So it is one hand on the camera and one hand that holds and moves the lensball.

And this is why I needed a smaller lensball and and a lighter camera ;-)

Got it… I always shoot fully manual but tried to focus in the lensball… will try your method next time, thanks for sharing.
I have large hands and the Leica weights about 800gr, lighter than the Nikon, that’s whay I use the Nikon only for birdwatching now…

A very nice picture, which I like very much!
Wonderful and interesting way to show the Triebwagen on the Harz railway.
It reminded my very much of a trip to Stiege station some years ago..

As a matter of fact, we took that DMU and went via Stiege to Hasselfelde, where we encountered a steam train.

This summer, all regional railways in Germany can be taken with just one ticket at 9 € per month. So this trip was really cheap ...
