Church of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, on Russian Hill. In efforts to reduced the expenses of the archdiocese, the church was slated to be closed and the property sold. Opposition by church members resulted in the church building receiving landmark status. The future of the building is uncertain.

Though not a great shot due to the lighting, you can see that at one time cable cars ran into the Castro, the Mission, and out to Golden Gate Park. I had not realized how much of the city was once served by cable cars.
