Giant Rock, north of Landers, reported by various websites to be the world's largest single rock and site of spiritual reverence for various populations. A net search for "Giant Rock Landers" will generate multiple sites about it. The road to is fairly clear and can be handled by normal passenger cars, though there are sections that could be a problem for cars with low clearance.

On this visit (a second), I noticed that the rocks marking the side of the road had been sprayed with what appears to be pink paint, in protest of something. It may be part of a protest of a solar array planned for somewhere in the area.

Slash X cafe at Slash X ranch. Per a plaque, the bar/cafe was started by the owner of the ranch because his wife didn't want 'drinking and carousing' in the house. Per the sign, the cafe/bar is open on the weekends and appears to be popular.
