Wuppertal Schwebebahn (#0390)

Wuppertal Schwebebahn (#0390)
Much of the line is over the Wuppertal river which forms a fairly narrow valley through the area. Besides being ridden by tourists, it's a key part of the transit system for the area. Midday on a Tuesday the cars were fairly full, and it looked like I was the only tourist.

Oh, now that's cool. I was wondering whether there was any benefit to a suspended track as opposed to a standard elevated railway, but I guess this would be it. How fast does it move?

Don't know re speed, but it seemed to move at about the speed of a standard trolley that has a dedicated (no street traffic) line.
