Wind River Canyon WY (#0620)
Though a steep and relatively narrow canyon, the elevation change is slight. The river, which runs north (away from me) changes name from Wind River to Bighorn River at some point in the canyon.

Robin and I are talking about maybe taking a long trip focusing solely on Wyoming next spring, and the Wind River Canyon is big on our list. This looks beautiful.

This was my second trip to Wyoming in the past three years and both times I was impressed by the accessibility, comparatively low crowds, the friendliness of the people, and the quality of the documentation.
