Nuremberg Zeppelin Field (#2756)

At a point where I was about to give up on seeing the actual insides of the arena, I came to an opening near the front.
The speaking platform area is based on the design of the Greek Pergamon Altar and was originally topped by a very large swastika. The swastika was blown up by the Allies at the end of the war.
Though preparation for some entertainment was going on just to my left, it was still possible to approach Hitler's platform with an appreciation of the role of design in supporting terror.
