CA-1 Rain Rocks Rock Shed (1134)

CA-1 Rain Rocks Rock Shed (1134)
Near Limekiln State Park, the highly unusual Pitkins Curve bridge and Rain Rocks Rock Shed structure built in an area that has persistent problems with sliding into the sea. I haven't seen anywhere else in California such shed structure for protecting cars from falling rocks. For details, see the story: www.mercurynews.com/central-coast/ci_24927149/big-sur-rock-shed-dramatic-covering-highway-1

That's an interesting solution. We sat for about a half-hour someplace near here in 2007, waiting for a gap in the construction work to repair damage from a slide. It was a pleasant break for us, but I would imagine people who drive the highway often find that sort of thing annoying.
