I would've liked to explore closer, but at the same time I feel like an exploitative voyeur when I'm taking photos of other people's poverty -- there appeared to be some people still living in there..

Yes - I "drove by there" on Street View and saw a couple of occupied houses. I can imagine this having been a little town on its own. A store, a beauty shop...
