As a retired Engineer, it always fascinates me to see the different styles of valve-gear linkages on the steam locomotives, and how the designers arranged for advance and retard adjustments to the steam flows for different speeds of working. Great picture Don.

Glad you liked it. As a non-engineer, the details mystify me but I'm impressed on a more general level by the complexity and massiveness of it all. I don't usually shoot this directly at the system, but it's probably visible in many of the larger versions of my pictures of steam engines.
