Iraan, TX 2560a

The only place on the entire two week trip where I felt uncomfortable due to the responses of police. Iraan (see below), had some interesting buildings and signage, but as I was wandering around in my car, I noticed that the sheriff was following me. I decided that the only picture to take was this one on the edge of town. The town actually has an interesting history with the oil industry (check Wikipedia) and, no, it's name isn't a misspelling of Iran. It's named for the owners of the ranch, Ira & Ann, where the town was built.
