The US 101 bridges over the Klamath River have statues of bears at the end of the bridge. This picture is from the old bridge that was abandoned when the highway was realigned.

I remember these bears from childhood. I think they were always painted gold.

I read somewhere that they were painted gold, I think the one's on the main highway bridge still are.
