Salton Sea Beach, CA (2715a)

I've generally found the east side of the Salton Sea to be the most interesting, but the west side provides some good material for sociological analysis. This and adjacent pictures highlight some of what is found on the west side of the Salton Sea.

Though the east side of the Salton Sea has the abandoned marina, there seems to be more evidence of attempts to develop the area on the west side. Along the west side are multiple locations where there has clearly been an effort to lay out streets in hopes that there would be development, but that development typically hasn't happened. A satellite view (see the map) will show how much attention was paid to laying out streets in various locations on the west side, but yet the streets typically have few structures. Nearby pictures show some parts of Salton Sea Beach, which apparently didn't work out as a development, and then some recent efforts to develop at Salton City.
