Yet another infrared experiment

Fun with infrared

Most of these were taken with a Fuji X100, which is surprisingly good, without modification, for IR. It does have a bit of a hot spot at the center, which would be no problem for Photoshop masters. I'm not one of those, though.

A bog-standard IR picture

This is what it looks like with white-balance corrected but no channel switching or anything like that. Maybe what it will look like there when we colonize and terraform Mars!

It's called "The Ridges"

At the right is what used to be the Athens Lunatic Asylum; now it's a museum. At the left are modern buildings housing the business school and related buisness assistance organizations. Infrared, of course. I like the moon -- Luna -- above the lunatic asylum. They're related. You can look it up.

Ohio farm in infrared

I wondered what this field of young corn would look like in infrared. Now I know. So do you! Fuji X100, R720 filter, white balance set on green grass

The castle in The Plains

Sean Jones built this castle using 40-foot steel shipping/storage containers as the four turrets. (Are they turrets if they're not round?) The result is part castle, part treehouse, and all cool. The deck on the roof alone justifies the place. I believe it is for sale, and its new owner will love it. It was shot with the X100 at ISO 400 and f8. Which meant a 1.8-second exposure. Which as it turns out is too long for a monopod on a windy day.
