Thanks. The common (and even scientific) taxonomy of insects does seem to differ by continent. I've spent some time trying to find out if the broad-winged damselflies in North America are called the somewhat prettier "demoiselles" here as they are elsewhere.

Then, of course, there are regional names. For instance, in parts of the south the dragonfly is known as the "snake doctor."
