Good year for bindweed

Pretty though it is, bindweed, which is a member of the morning glory family, smothers other plants and is a general and noxious nuisance. Making what we will of it, though, we can appreciate its flowers, though its leaves and, later, its spiny seed pods tell more of its nature.
