The Big Bang

The Big Bang
This radiotelescope image traces the universe back to two-tenths of a microsecond after the big bang. Already the universe is several million miles across, with faint waves of energy visible. A strange jet of super-heated plasma is ejected at the bottom, which scientists theorize may come from the imperfection that caused the singularity to erupt; the escaping matter-in-the-making, some theorize, may be what went on to become the dense "dark matter" that makes up of the universe's mass

Okay, that's actually not true. It's a picture I took of a dandelion seed head, then filtered in various ways in the GIMP, then reversed values.

I like the first story better, though.
