Sarinagara..
Perhaps a little sombre in B&W, Lian; Issa was mourning the loss of his son but yet ..oh and yet ..life is there ..and hope and beauty.. :) ;-)

Ah, I had never expected there would be post about Kobayashi's poem on Ipernity berfore I saw your link :-) I like the Frech translation. It's quite similar in structure with a popular Chinese version - "我知道这世界 / 如朝露般短暂 / 然而,然而“ - not so literally, but touching. While taking this picture, I was discussing Yukio Mishima's The Temple of the Golden Pavilion (金閣寺) with a friend. I guess that's the reason why the picture looks a bit depressing ... but sure it's unfair for the beautiful architecture ;-)

Um ..I see ..strange misconception..There's a whole collection of haiku in my Iperspace ;-)
Yes, the great Mishima of course, known as much for his horrendous suicide as for his books ..
As it is, the "gold" of the Kinkaku-ji is invisible here you see...
As for translating haiku poems ..a lot has been written about this perilous task :))
Have a nice day!

Okay, I guess you are right about the color of Kinkaku-ji. So I posted something golden and light-hearted :-)

Yes, it's a bit sad, so I compensated it with a colored one :-) Anyway, so glad that you like it!
