DSCN5287 Mulleys Motorways F94 CBD

17 Dec 2010 492
Friday 17 December 2010 (0806) – Mulleys Motorways F94 CBD, a Jonckheere Deauville bodied Volvo B10M, seen at Chedburgh. The cold winter weather resulted in a twist of fate in that I was assigned this coach to work school/college contract 160 today. Normally a double decker bus was used on this contract but there was a shortage of such buses this morning as a result of a good one being hemmed in at the Ixworth yard by another bus which had suffered a failed starter motor. that immediately meant we were two buses down. A third double decker which was almost substituted wouldn’t build up the correct air pressure so as a quick fix I was given this manual gearbox coach which was the first manual coach I had driven for some time. Despite running late, as a result of all the upheaval, I took a moment to take this photograph prior to picking up the first students for the supposedly 0759 school/college contract service 160 from nearby Depden Lane End. New in July 1989 to Middletons Coaches although Mulleys acquired it from Hills of Tredegar. It was sold to Fareline Bus and Coach Company (Geoff Morss) based in Wingfield near Diss.
