Friday 15 May 2026 – The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) is embarking on a franchising model for the region’s bus services. Bus services are branded ‘Tiger’ and have ‘T’ prefixed service numbers.
Whippet Coaches Limited is the operator of service T1, a service that operates from Cambridge to Huntingdon travelling from Drummer Street bus station to join the Busway at Milton Road. It leaves the Busway at the Swavesey crossing taking to normal roads through the villages of Swavesey and Fenstanton.
Two MCV eVoSeti tri-axle Volvo B8L tri-axle double deckers were added to the fleet specifically for the service in June 2025. These carry fleet numbers WG457/458 and registrations BU25 ZFF and BU25 ZFE (in that order).
WG458 seen leaving Drummer Street Bus Station working the 1009 service to Huntingdon.
Three Stagecoach East Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 MMC buses complete the picture.

Friday 15 May 2016 (1214) – A Whippet Coaches Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo seen heading westbound along the A428 near Bourn Airfield.
I believe this would be WG103 (BF63 HFB) working the 1130 service X3 from Addenbrooke’s Hospital to Huntingdon which was due at Cambourne at 1216.
I was travelling on Stagecoach East 19584 (AE10 BWV) which was working the 1150 service 4 from Cambridge to Cambourne.

The dark coloured bus at the far end is a Whippet Coaches vehicle, the green/white bus with lilac rear is a Stephensons of Essex vehicle. The others are Stagecoach East vehicles.
Nearest the camera is Stagecoach East 86005 (BV23 NRK), one of the thirty MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double deckers new in April 2023 for services on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway.

Friday 15 May 2026 (1121) – A Stagecoach East double decker seen as it was leaving the A14 at the Bar Hill junction.
This was the 1100 service 5 from Cambridge to Longstanton Park and Ride (located on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway).
The tracker on the Bus Times website confirmed it was 15220 (YN15 KHT) which is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015.
Seen from on board Dews Coaches, Somersham V99 DEW as it worked the 1120 service 8 from Bar Hill to Cambridge (via Dry Drayton, Madingley and Coton).
The pedestrian suspension bridges spanning the road are quite impressive and cross ten vehicle lanes (three on each carriageway and two on each of the access slip roads), the central reservation and four wide verges. (At a guess it is around 100 yards/91 metres between the towers).

Exeter Chiefs Rugby Union team coach C111 EFS seen at Leicester for a match with Leicester Tigers.
It is a Van Hool Altano new in September 2019 which features detailed graphics of the Chiefs players. Originally shown as being new to Dealtop Limited (trading as Dartline, Clyst St. Mary, Devon) it now carries the legal name and address of Greenslades Tours (Exeter) Limited. The coach is visually the same in spite of the transfer. (I noticed the quoted unladen weight of the coach reads 19920 kgs).
The Chiefs won the game scoring 35 points to the Tigers 26.

DOR 15S, a Sunsundegui SC5 bodied Volvo B8R new in July 2022 to Southern Communications Group, Exeter seen at Leicester as part of the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Union entourage for a match with Leicester Tigers.
Southern Communications Group is the main sponsor of the Chiefs and I have seen reference that this coach may actually be a non-PCV Directors private vehicle. (There appear to be full height interior panels with curtains behind the driver and courier seats).
The Chiefs team coach C111 EFS, a much larger Van Hool Altano, was close by.
The Chiefs won the game scoring 35 points to the Tigers 26.
