Ambassador Travel (NX contractor) 301 (BV22 VSX) at Fiveways, Barton Mills - 26 Apr 2025 (P1210157)

Tuesday 27 May 2025 (0830) – Ambassador Travel 301 (BV22 VSX), a Caetano Levante III bodied Scania K410 new in August 2022, seen heading away from Fiveways, Barton Mills when working the 0630 National Express service 727 from Great Yarmouth to Heathrow Airport.

Across the carriageway on a low-loader trailer parked in the lay-by is former British Railways locomotive 80078. Railways not being my forte I can only refer to information on the Mid-Norfolk Railway website: www.midnorfolkrailway.co.uk/80078

In summary it is a BR Standard 4MT which entered service in February 1954 and was withdrawn in July 1965. On the day I read the website it stated the loco was ‘Away (Under Repair’)’. Since it was facing eastbound I presume it was in process of being returned to the Mid-Norfolk Railway which is based at East Dereham.
