Konectbus (Chambers) 871 (PN09 ELU) in Bury St. Edmunds – 21 May 2025 (P1210147)

Wednesday 21 May 2025 (1405) – Konectbus Chambers (Go East Anglia) 871 (PN09 ELU), an Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UD new to Metrobus (also Go-Ahead owned) in June 2009, seen loading in Bury St. Edmunds bus station working the 1405 service 753 to Sudbury.

Hedingham Omnibuses Limited and H C Chambers & Son Limited were both acquired by Go-Ahead in 2012. Those company names were retained until 2018 and became brand names when their operations and licences were placed under the control of Konectbus. I have read that there is a plan to unify these different names under a common brand in the near future.

The photo was taken from the upper deck of Stephensons of Essex 621 (EU23 BZL), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC bodied Scania N250UD new in March 2023, departing on service 16 to Mildenhall and Newmarket. (This was the 1350 departure from West Suffolk Hospital due from here at 1400).
