'Bed in Bus' (ELJ 219V not FRP 907T) (IMG-20230825-WA0002)

'Bed in Bus' at Belluno, Italy. In August 2023, as part of a hiking holiday in the Dolomites (Northern Italy), my daughter and family spent a night on this Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR which had been converted to become the 'Bed in Bus'.

Whilst the vehicle carries the registration number FRP 907T at both front and rear that is in fact not the true identity. The bus was new to Hants & Dorset Motor Services in January 1980 as their 3427 registered ELJ 219V. When the Hants & Dorset business was divided into three smaller companies the bus passed to Wilts & Dorset taking on fleet number 4427. The interior still contains some signs and notices bearing the Wilts & Dorset name.

There were are number of interior signs showing the name of Wilts & Dorset in the style adopted in the late 1980s.
