'Walk & Ride' bus stop in Lincoln - 1 Mar 2023 (P1140590)

Wednesday 1 March 2023 (1031) – P.C. Coaches of Lincoln operates the ‘Walk & Ride’ circular in the city centre of Lincoln which links the low-lying city centre and the Castle and Cathedral Quarter which stand on much higher ground. The difference in ground level is approx. 230 feet (70 metres) within a distance of 0.4 mile (0.65 km) linked by what is said to be the fourth steepest street in England although all general traffic, including the buses, take a longer route with a lesser incline.

The dedicated bus stop units along the route each have three distinct panels featuring timetables and route diagrams. Sadly, they were all out of date as the service no longer serves this bus stop in Castle Square near the Tourist Information Centre.

The service continues to run every 20 minutes six days a week but the route appears to have changed by deleting Castle Square and adding Lincoln Central railway station.
