Stagecoach East 15215 (YN15 KHM) in Lode – 22 Oct 2022 (P1130900)

Saturday 22 October 2022 (1337) – Stagecoach East 15215 (YN15 KHM), seen in the Cambridgeshire village of Lode when working the 1250 service 11 from Cambridge to Newmarket and Bury St. Edmunds. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in August 2015.

During mid-September 2022 Stagecoach East announced its intention to withdraw quite a number of bus services which it said were no longer commercially sustainable. Their services 11/X11 ceased after operation on Saturday 29 October 2022 along with the Cambridge-Newmarket-Ely service 12. Replacement services were introduced by Stephensons of Essex from Monday 31 October 2022.

Service 11 operates hourly but only serves Lode every two hours. On the other hour buses divert to serve Reach thus giving that village a service every two hours.

Serving Lode the buses run from the main B1102 road and reverse at Mill Lane (opposite the red car in the background) in order to retrace their path back to the main road. The bus had already turned round was now heading back to the main road.
