Worthing Coaches (National Express owned) XW5611 (BU18 OSM) in Mildenhall - 26 Jun 2021 (P1080880)
Saturday 26 June 2021 (1156) – National Express resumed operation of service 727 on Monday 21 June 2021 following a period of Covid-19 lockdown and the service once again linked Norwich with Brighton. A new operator working the runs was Worthing Coaches of Lancing, West Sussex – a company which had been acquired by National Express in March 2020 along with Luckett’s Travel that had owned the Worthing Coaches business since 2005.

Worthing Coaches XW5611 (BU18 OSM) was seen at Mildenhall when working the 0620 service from Brighton to Norwich. It is a Caetano Levante bodied Scania K410 that had been new in March 2018.

The full fleet number XW561156 (as a 56 seater I presume the last two digits of that rather long fleet number could possibly relate to the seating capacity) is carried below the nearside light cluster although the last two digits are not included on the larger fleet number displayed over the windscreen.

In the background is Mulleys Motorways Limited MUI 7919 working the 1120 service 355 from Bury St. Edmunds to Beck Row. It is an Alexander bodied Volvo B7TL new as Dublin Bus AV14 (00D 40014) in September 2000 which became X179 CHJ when imported to England. Mulleys re-registered it to MUI 7919 in May 2016.
