Ambassador Travel 915 (C915 BPW) on the new Red Lodge by-pass – 22 Sep 1991 (151-29)

Sunday 22 September 1991 – Ambassador Travel MCW Metroliner 915 (C915 BPW) speeds along the new Red Lodge by-pass which opened the previous Monday 16 September 1991 when working the 0900 Lowestoft to London National Express ‘Rapide’ service 599.

‘Rapide’ services featured vehicles with toilet and catering facilities and made less frequent refreshment/toilet stops (if indeed making any at all) and therefore reduced the journey times. In the past coaches plying the Norfolk-London services would have stopped at one of the catering establishments along the road through Red Lodge but 915 now motors on.
