Preserved former Gosport & Fareham 24 (CG 9607) at Showbus, Duxford – 26 Sep 1993 (205-25)
Sunday 26 September 1993 – Preserved former Gosport & Fareham Omnibus Company (Provincial) 24 (CG 9607) on display at Showbus, Duxford.

The chassis is an AEC Regal IV dating from 1934 which originally carried a Harrington half-cab body. It was re-bodied by Reading in 1962. Note the position of the route number blind.

Gosport & Fareham was well known for rebuilding its buses and had a penchant for Deutz air cooled engines, a type the company fitted to quite a number of Guy Arab double deckers. The company was taken over by the National Bus Company (Hants and Dorset) on 1 January 1970 and its quirky bus fleet was soon disbanded.
