Stephensons 648 (BV55 UCT) in Station Road, Barton Mills - 25 Jun 2019 (P1020859)

Tuesday 25 Jun 2019 (1050) – The Mildenhall area has seen its fair share of traffic disruption for months with a cable laying project out to Worlington, Freckenham and beyond which has closed the road resulting in serious disruption for the buses. Just when a certain part seemed complete the diggers were back to start again!

In this view Stephensons of Essex 648 (BV55 UCT) is seen on diversion in Station Road, Barton Mills at the three way traffic signals which were part of the latest work. It was working the 1010 service 16 from Newmarket to Bury St. Edmunds which would normally pass from left to right on the road ahead when operating from Worlington to Mildenhall. However Worlington cannot be served during the period of the work. (Lasting many, many weeks). The bus is an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N230UD that had been new to Blue Triangle as their SO1 in December 2005 for Transport for London contracts.
