Stagecoach Manchester 10415 (SL64 HZY) at Salford Quays - 24 May 2019 (P1020094)

Friday 24 May 2019 (1735) – Stagecoach Manchester 10415 (SL64 HZY), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400D MMC new in January 2015, seen turning at Salford Quays about to load on service 50 to East Didsbury.

The Quays are the former Salford Docks that were part of the once thriving Port of Manchester. Now thriving as a retail, cultural and residential area which includes Media City where the broadcasters BBC and ITV have their northern bases. Directly behind the bus is the water of former Number 9 Dock (Huron Basin today). Note the mooring post (if that is the correct nautical term) to the left of the bus which remains in situ from the working days of the docks. Two of the three NV Building towers stand on the other side of the Dock, apartment blocks built in the style of billowing sails reflecting the area’s maritime past.
