First Eastern Counties 353 (J518 FPS) and 491 (JDZ 2337) in Norwich - 31 Jul 2001

Tuesday 31 July 2001 (approx. 1525) – First Eastern Counties Buses Dennis Darts seen in in St. Stephen’s Street, Norwich both of which had previously been operated by other group affiliates. 353 (J518 FPS), with Alexander Dash bodywork was new to Stagecoach Scotland (518) in March 1992 but later passed in to First Group ownership. Latterly operated by First Glasgow it was transferred to Eastern Counties and is shown here still in First Glasgow red livery. In the background 491 (JDZ 2337), with Wright Handybus was new to Centrebus (London Buses) (DW37) in March 1991. Common ownership under First Group resulted in First Eastern Counties often inheriting a number of different types of vehicles transferred from other group affiliates.
