Ulsterbus 1791 (GXI 421) at Bressingham Gardens - 23 May 2019 (P1010898)

Thursday 23 May 2019 (1609) – My gamble to visit Bressingham Gardens on the afternoon that an Ulsterbus ‘Norfolk and Suffolk’ tour was supposedly calling there paid off. 1791 (GXI 421), a Volvo B11RT with Volvo 9700 bodywork new in November 2018, is seen pulling away from the coach park at Bressingham a few minutes later than the 1600 plan after having to wait for three stray passengers. (As they say, there’s always one - but today there were three!).

The tour had departed Belfast the previous Sunday (19 May) using the sea crossing to Cairnryan in Scotland then travelling south to spend the first night near Sandiacre in the East Midlands. On Monday (20 May) after travelling via Kings Lynn it arrived in Great Yarmouth to spend four nights there. Tuesday (21 May) was a free day in Great Yarmouth. Wednesday (22 May) included a visit to Wroxham with a sail on the Norfolk Broads and a ride on the Bure Valley Railway. Today (Thursday 23 May) it visited Southwold and Bressingham. Friday (24 May) it travelled from Great Yarmouth to Telford where it stayed overnight. Finally on Saturday (25 May) the journey was from Telford back to Belfast via the Holyhead to Dublin sea crossing.
