First Eastern Counties 281 (VAH 281X) in Norwich - 31 Jul 2001

Tuesday 31 July 2001 (approx. 1540) – The Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR was the standard double decker bus purchased by the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company throughout its National Bus Company years. These two examples were seen in Surrey Street bus station in Norwich. 281 (VAH 281X) was new in October 1981 and twenty years later was operated by what had become First Eastern Counties Buses. Alongside is a similar bus which was one of the VEX-X registered series delivered a few months later.
